Supplier-related challenges

  • Some of the positions that the client was looking to fill had been vacant since 2015 despite having over 10 suppliers

  • The average time to close positions was 3 months

  • The communication and the SLAs set up with suppliers was poor and consequently impacted delivery. For example, the client sometimes was coming back with screening feedback after 1.5 months

Internal communications challenges

  • The client’s Malaysian counterpart, did not have clear guidance from the US on the required talent and therefore had constant changes in JDs

  • Closely worked with the client’s stakeholders to understand requirements

  • Developed an end to end recruitment tracker and reporting structure to identify process bottlenecks

  • Upon identifying hiring delay causes, collaborated with the talent acquisition team to submit suitable profiles directly to hiring managers

  • Provided the client with market data on skills availability in Malaysia and abroad

  • Organized walk-ins for the client to understand the market flavor of available skills and adjust requirements to match reality

Results

  • Successfully hired 65 professionals for the required roles

  • Constituted 80% of total client perm hiring for these positions

  • Aging requirements were closed and the client was relieved of their backlog
