Having a sense of purpose at work matters to many in Malaysia, but not many are feeling the sense of fulfillment at work: 98% of Malaysia respondents surveyed indicated that having meaning at work was important to them, but only 27% respondents feel “very satisfied” with their current level of meaning at work.
The significance of a company's reputation, particularly in social responsibility, has become a critical factor for job seekers: 90% of respondents in Malaysia indicate that a company’s reputation for social responsibility influences their decision to pursue employment with them.
Changing careers to pursue high-impact jobs: While the majority of Malaysia respondents believe that any job can contribute to the betterment of society and the planet, 55% of them are contemplating a career change to actively pursue this purpose.
Jobs_that_makesense Asia and Manpower conducted a survey on 2,023 participants across Southeast Asia, including 211 employees, students, and job seekers in Malaysia, to understand their perspectives on purposeful work.
