POSITION PURPOSE
- The person will lead a team of technicians to calibrate Test systems/ machines and assist the Engineering department in repairs of the test systems/machines.
- The key deliverable of the role is to minimize Tester Machines down time to optimise repair operations output.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Degree or Diploma in Electrical /Electronic Engineering.
- Knowledge of Test System calibration.
- Knowledge of Automatic Test System maintenance.
- Diagnostic knowledge of Test Instruments and Accessories.
- Strong leadership qualities and experience in managing technical teams.
EXPERIENCES
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in operations management within the telecommunications or a related technical industry.
- Proven experience in managing large teams and complex workflows.
- Demonstrated ability in process optimization and resource management.
- Experience with data analysis and using data-driven decision-making to improve operations.
- Experience with maintenance scheduling and managing technical equipment downtime.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Technical:
- To calibrate Test systems/ machines in the repair area.
- To assist in first-line support for the test systems/machines.
- To clean the air filters, fixtures, connection plugs and other accessories in the test systems.
- To assist the Engineering department in repairing boards, fixtures and other hardware accessories.
- To upgrade the Test system.
- To build the Test system and install the Test program.
- To support the Test system at 2nd level at the repair center.
- To support project activities and report actively to project manager
- Develop team members to delegate technical responsibilities as required.
Leadership:
- Lead and supervise a team of technicians, providing guidance and support to ensure the successful calibration and maintenance of test systems/machines.
- Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback to team members.
- Conduct performance evaluations and identify opportunities for skill development and training.
- Coordinate the daily activities and schedules of the team to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Ensure proper allocation of resources and manage workload distribution among team members.
- Facilitate clear and effective communication within the team and with other departments, including engineering and project management.
- Act as a liaison between technicians and upper management to report on team performance, project progress, and any issues that arise.
- Identify and address any technical or operational issues that affect the team's performance.
- Make informed decisions to resolve problems quickly and efficiently, minimizing downtime and maintaining high standards of quality.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement within the team by encouraging innovation, identifying process improvements, and implementing best practices.
- Monitor and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement and develop action plans to address them.
- Ensure that all team members adhere to safety protocols and maintain a safe working environment.
- Conduct regular safety audits and address any potential hazards promptly.
- Oversee the quality of work performed by the team, ensuring that all test systems/machines meet the required standards.
- Implement and maintain quality control processes to ensure consistent and reliable performance.
- Actively report progress and any issues to the project manager, providing insights and recommendations as needed.
