Job Responsibilities
As an HVAC Project Manager, you will:
- Project Initiation: Develop temporary facility plans, workforce allocation strategies, and work environment setups.
- Quality Oversight: Review construction drawings, ensure compliance with guidelines, specifications, and authorizations, and perform final quality checks.
- Schedule Management: Monitor construction progress, adjust schedules as needed, and ensure timely project completion.
- Site Leadership: Act as the contractor’s representative, taking full accountability for site operations and management.
- Issue Resolution: Provide clear instructions during challenges, report promptly to senior management, and ensure effective execution.
- Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise and negotiate with clients, main contractors, site officers (SO), designers, architects, and engineers for smooth project delivery.
- Client Communication: Conduct regular client meetings to understand needs, respond to requests, and address complaints with reports and improvement plans.
- Post-Project Follow-Up: Perform follow-ups to ensure client satisfaction and foster relationships for future opportunities.
- Safety Prioritization: Establish a safe work environment compliant with occupational health and safety standards, develop safety policies, conduct briefings, and implement accident prevention measures.
- Subcontractor & Cost Management: Select and manage subcontractors within budget, optimize efficiency, improve quality, and shorten timelines while maintaining cost-effectiveness.
Requirements
Must-Have Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
- 8–10 years of hands-on experience in HVAC construction management and maintenance.
- Proven track record in site management, including leading and supervising construction projects.
- Extensive experience in project budgeting, scheduling, and resource management.
- Ability to fully manage site operations, ensuring safety, quality, schedule adherence, and cost control.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to provide accurate instructions and report to senior management promptly.
- Excellent communication and coordination skills for working with diverse stakeholders.
- A business-oriented mindset and the ability to represent the company effectively on-site.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with Malaysian Standards (MS) and other industry-related regulations.
- Experience in HVAC system design and planning.
- Proficiency in construction management software (e.g., T-fas, AutoCAD, BIM).
