Position Overview

The position reports to the Director, Strategy and Communications (DSC), with an ultimate reporting line to the CEO, Chairman, and the Council of Hospis Malaysia.


Primary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Communications & Branding:

    • Assist the DSC in planning, implementing, and evaluating communication and branding strategies for Hospis Malaysia (HM).
    • Develop and execute media strategies across all channels to raise HM’s profile, including supervising the development of the organization's social media strategy.
    • Develop and monitor brand guidelines and key messages.
  • Budget & Publication:

    • Work with the DSC to set, monitor, and forecast an accurate Communications and Advocacy budget.
    • Supervise and drive all publication initiatives.
  • Fundraising & Donor Relations:

    • Support the DSC in developing an annual strategic plan and budget for fundraising, subject to approval by the Council of HM. Maintain proper and accountable records for all fundraising activities.
    • Work closely with the DSC to develop new and maintain existing donor relationships. Maintain an accurate database of all donors and supporters.
  • Training & Education:

    • Support the CEO and Medical Director in promoting HM’s training and educational activities.
  • Team Management:

    • Manage the Communications team to ensure all fundraising and communication initiatives align with the common goal of elevating HM’s profile, increasing awareness about palliative care, improving fundraising efforts, and strengthening HM’s branding.

Secondary Duties & Responsibilities

  • Internal Collaboration:

    • Maintain strong working relationships with other departments to ensure smooth organizational operations. Provide support and encourage team collaboration as needed.
  • Advocacy & Passion:

    • Foster a shared passion and interest in HM’s advocacy cause. Enhance knowledge of the cause, demonstrating integrity, focus, and effective communication skills to persuade others toward shared goals.
